We recommend that prior to administering the PREP-C to the first patient, you watch one or both of the training videos. The two videos provide a mock interview with the same patient. The first mock interview is done by a clinical psychologist who is working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The second mock interview is done by the nurse practitioner who will be managing the patient’s Hepatitis C treatment. They demonstrate how the PREP-C interview can differ depending on the role of the specific healthcare provider who is administering it. After watching the video(s), we recommend you read the sample documentation for the medical record written by the psychologist. This provides an assessment of the patient’s readiness to begin HCV treatment and recommendations for a treatment plan to increase the patient’s level of treatment readiness.
